Our Personal Reflections From the Journey of a Lifetime
By Jacqui & Shimon
There are journeys you plan… and then there are journeys that call you.
For us, the Mystic Mountains November 2025 tour is one of those rare invitations, a pilgrimage through sacred lands and living traditions, shared with a community of travellers who come with open hearts and curious spirits. Over 14 nights and 15 days, we journeyed through India and Nepal, connecting with the mountains, the rivers, the temples and with one another.
Below are our reflections, written as the experiences still shimmer warmly in our memories.
Delhi to Rishikesh: Returning to the Source
As we left the colourful rhythm of Delhi behind, we felt the familiar anticipation that always rises when the Himalayas appear on the horizon. Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, has a way of gently softening the edges of the mind.
Each morning we walked beside the pristine Ganges, feeling its cold, pure energy. We meditated in a sacred cave, a space that seems to hold centuries of silence and watched the sunrise from a temple-top hill where the world turns golden in an instant.
There is something indescribable about watching our group settle into the pace of this holy city, sipping chai in the bazaars, wandering through markets filled with marigolds, beads, and devotional music and witnessing how quickly hearts open here. Rishikesh feels like coming home with so much reference to the Great Yogis that came from here.
Varanasi: Held in the Heartbeat of Eternity
Varanasi is one of those places you never forget, no matter how many times you visit. It is raw, real, sacred, chaotic, beautiful and deeply alive.
We floated on the Ganges at dawn, wrapped in quiet awe as the city slowly awakened around us: priests chanting, lamps flickering, pilgrims bathing in the sacred waters. The devotion here is palpable; it moves like a living presence through the air.
Walking through the narrow lanes of the old city, passing orange-robed sadhus, spice stalls, incense clouds, and ancient shrines, we felt as though we’d stepped outside of time.
For many in our group, Varanasi was a turning point, an encounter with life and death intertwined, witnessed with reverence and acceptance. It is a place that invites reflection, humility and deep gratitude.
Kathmandu: Kingdoms, Culture, and Mountain Light
Crossing into Nepal, the energy shifted again becoming gentle, artistic and quietly profound. Kathmandu greeted us with the vibrant hum of Thamel, full of music, cafés and colour.
We wandered through the timeless courtyards of Patan, admiring bronze deities and temples that have watched over generations. In Bhaktapur, with its medieval charm and red-brick squares, we felt immersed in a living museum of Nepali heritage.
There were moments on this leg of the journey when we simply paused, watching prayer flags flutter against the sky, sipping masala tea in a hidden courtyard, sharing laughter with the group and we knew we were exactly where we were meant to be.
What This Journey Means to Us
Every time we travel with a group, we are reminded why we do this. It is not just about the places, though India and Nepal offer some of the most magical landscapes and spiritual experiences on Earth.
It’s about witnessing people connect with themselves.
It’s about hearing their reflections by the riverbanks and temple steps.
It’s about watching friendships form, insights blossom, and hearts expand.
The Himalayas have a way of calling forth the truth in each of us.
And travelling through these sacred lands with all of you has been an honour.
Mystic Mountains November 2025 will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
